In the heart of Ethiopia’s Yirgacheffe region, the Banko Dhadhato Cooperative brings together more than 750 farmers dedicated to producing exceptional coffee. Founded in 2013 with just 250 members, it has grown into a strong and supportive community focused on quality, sustainability and better livelihoods.

Cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness, carefully sorted and dried naturally on raised beds for up to 21 days. This slow, sun-led process develops the bright, expressive flavours Yirgacheffe is known for and brings out the fruit-forward character in this lot. Beyond coffee, the association supports local families by providing school supplies and helping children access education.

Expect a sweet and vibrant cup with notes of raspberry jam, papaya and a soft, creamy mouthfeel. Smooth, tropical and full of character, it is a beautiful expression of the region and the care of the farmers who grow it.

We are the home of fresh coffee. When you order online, your coffee is roasted fresh to order, especially for you. Plus, it’s specialty grade and traded ethically through Union Direct Trade.

Sophia D. ★★★★★

I brewed this as a pour-over this morning and the raspberry jam note really came through, sweet but not cloying. The papaya adds a nice tropical twist that lingers on the finish. Definitely a vibrant cup for a lazy weekend.

Jacob ★★★★★

The creamy mouthfeel is what got me—it’s so smooth that the papaya note lingers well after each sip. Brewed it as a pour-over and the sweetness balanced perfectly without needing any sugar. Definitely ordering another bag before this one runs out.

Julian ★★★★★

The raspberry jam note hits right up front and lingers into this wonderfully sweet finish, but the papaya is what really surprised me. I brewed it as a pour-over and the cup stayed vibrant from hot to cool, though I wish I'd bought more than one bag.
